Two booklets were collaboratively written and illustrated to promote harmonious relations between youth and the older community of Cobh by Elizabeth Woods, Kevin Leong, Peter Nash, Katya Korolyova, and the staff and students of YMCA Cobh and Cobh Youth Services.
Me & My Mate Manners is an illustrated booklet for 4-8 year olds on polite and respectful behaviour.
Loosely modelled around contemporary etiquette books, Etiquette for Cobh-Heads and Old Folks offers two complimentary sets of guidelines - one for young people and another for the older community - that exemplify respectful and considerate behaviour in a range of common situations. The booklet is informational but also serves as a social contract and as a symbol - display of the booklet in businesses, institutions and public organisations indicates sympathy with the booklet's intentions and signal safe and welcoming spaces for young people with the same understanding.
